The beach below Stocking Island’s monument is a shore stop for visitors combining Elizabeth Harbour with a walk up to the old beacon. Local boating guides also use the name Hamburger Beach when describing a landing for the monument trail. The beach and the beacon are separate parts of the outing: one is at water level and the other is reached on foot.
Practical visitor information
Tell your boat operator you want the landing for the monument hike. Ask where to pick up the trail, whether the landing is usable at the expected tide and where the return pickup will be. Bring water for the climb.
