Channel Marker Coral Reef lies in Elizabeth Harbour off the Elizabeth Island side of the harbour. The conservation partnership’s illustrated map distinguishes the reef site from the channel markers nearby and identifies both coral and seagrass habitat. Those two kinds of markings have different purposes for someone looking at the water from a boat.
Practical visitor information
Ask a local operator to identify the snorkel site and the active boat channel before entering the water. The historical map helps explain the name, but it is explicitly unsuitable for navigation. Confirm present-day mooring arrangements and allow clearance over shallow coral.
